Blog #3, 2/28 - Now You See Me, Now You Don't

I have returned, and I am now a completely new magician, some might say the master magician. Or not. But through this past week or so I have set out on really locking down on some of the more simple, before jumping into big things. And that is exactly what I completed.

On my way to learning all the magic tricks, I have finally started to master some of the more simple tricks such as making a card appear out of thin air, and other simple tricks that involve some newly learned hand motions. While I have not made the leap to bigger tricks with entire decks, that require a whole routine of hand movements to complete. I am certainly happy with what I have been able to accomplish through the more simple moves. Now having much more to show then just knowing some of what is behind magic, I think I can be much more official in calling myself Magic Mason.

However, some of the tricks certainly took some practice to get down. A lot of the finger motions have to be very precise, and look seamless if you want your magic to appear as magic. My personal favorite trick at the moment has to be the one that makes a card appear out of thin air. Despite being one of the more simple tricks that I have now learned, it is the one I have practiced the most and become the best at. And as sad as it sounds my finger muscles have become sore from all that working out they are getting. But soon enough they will be swole, and able to complete the heaviest of magic tricks. Most of my current tricks end up relying on me being able to contort my fingers in different ways that hide the cards. Sadly, they do not just disappear like I originally thought, making it much more difficult. Even more difficult is trying to keep the cards at eyesight of my audience. Being below most peoples eyes means that it's a lot harder to hide the magicians secret from them. But, it doesn't look to bad from the point of view of a video.

Despite being able to complete the simple tricks, I must charge forward and look into the future of amazing magical talents. Next I'm looking to complete larger tricks that involve multiple steps, and more likely an entire deck of cards. This will make my job a lot more difficult, as completing my tricks as smoothly will require a lot more working at it. However, this will be nothing into comparison to my future abilities.

Overall, this week was a lot more just practicing and going through the movements to get better at what I can do, and pretty much just being able to improve. I am still on track and feel good about where I am at so far, so that is good news. That's all. Magic Mason Out
